President Trump Celebrates 500 Days in Office: 'We Have Accomplished a Lot'

President Donald J. Trump is celebrating his 500th day in the White House by reflecting on the important work his Administration has done since last January. In a tweet, the President cites “Massive Tax & Regulation Cuts, Military & Vets, Lower Crime & Illegal Immigration, Stronger Borders, Judgeships, Best Economy & Jobs EVER, and much more” among the great successes so far.

“Monday’s 7-2 Supreme Court decision in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission is a big win for the religious liberty of all Americans,” the Heritage Foundation’s Ryan T. Anderson writes in The Daily Signal. “The court made it clear that hostility toward religion has no place in America, least of all in our government.” Anderson makes another clear point: “Disagreement is not always discrimination.”

Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar writes in the New York Post that the “Right to Try” law signed by President Trump is renewing hope for terminally ill Americans. Secretary Azar explains that the President is “committed to making sure these patients have the chance to try an experimental medicine if it shows promise for their condition.”

“Quite clearly, President Trump is delivering on his promise to end the ‘American carnage’ and revive depleted manufacturing in our land, as 334,000 manufacturing jobs have been created since his election,” Steve Cortes writes in RealClearPolitics. “The trend [of economic growth], at last, shows ample reasons for optimism.”
