Mike Pence: Our tax cuts are good news for the Granite State

“Since Day One of our administration, President Trump has been fighting to rev the engine of our national prosperity and restore hope to the forgotten men and women of America,” Vice President Mike Pence writes in the New Hampshire Union Leader. On a visit today to Manchester, New Hampshire, the Vice President said he’ll bring this message to the people of the Granite State: “The American economy is booming — and we’re just getting started.”

“President Trump recognized the opioid crisis ravaging our nation before he was elected, and as a member of his Presidential Task Force on Opioids, I’ve witnessed firsthand his dedication to this important issue,” Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH) writes in The Hill. Rep. Johnson explains that “the President’s bold vision very clearly lays out a plan to: reduce opioid demand and prevent over-prescription; increase research and development to find alternative non-opioid treatments; and, get tough on those who illegally bring in and distribute these deadly drugs.”

The Washington Examiner reports that the number of “Americans rating the economy good to excellent has surged to the highest point since former President George W. Bush took office,” according to a new Pew Research survey. Paul Bedard writes that 53 percent of Americans rate President Trump’s economy “high” and “the best in some 18 years.”

The Bowling Green Daily News Editorial Board writes that President Trump “is correct in declaring the opioid crisis a nationwide emergency.” The editors add that they “believe the president has laid out good initiatives that could go a long way toward helping fight this major epidemic.”
