Ivanka Trump heads to Georgia

Yesterday, Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump traveled to Duluth, Georgia, visiting the UPS Integrad facility near Atlanta alongside Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA). This state-of-the-art training center gives UPS drivers the chance to learn valuable skills crucial for success in the rapidly changing global economy.

Her visit marked an opportunity to discuss UPS’ workforce development programs, which parallel the Trump Administration’s recent push to get more American jobs filled by American workers. With nine UPS Integrad facilities in United States, the result has been lower turnover and fewer accidents among the company’s new drivers.

“This is something that the Administration is deeply passionate about—ensuring that all Americans have the opportunity to benefit from the booming economy that we are experiencing,” Ms. Trump said at a roundtable with UPS employees.

Last July, President Donald J. Trump encouraged top executives across the country to sign his Pledge to America’s Workers, intended to give employees and students alike the chance to secure better, more stable jobs. UPS was on board from the start, committing to offer 51,750 career opportunities through skills training and apprenticeship programs.

With Ivanka Trump leading the charge, the Pledge to America’s Workers has grown to more than 6.5 million opportunities pledged for our workforce since last July. That number climbs each day, with partners that include Walmart, Apple, FedEx, and large and small businesses from coast to coast.

Vice President Pence to Europe: America is leading once again

From Poland to Germany, Vice President Mike Pence represented America on the world stage last week in a series of meetings with global leaders.

In Poland, the Vice President and Second Lady Karen Pence paid their respects to victims of anti-Semitism at Auschwitz and Birkenau, the scenes of unspeakable tragedy during the Holocaust. They were joined by Polish President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda. “May Auschwitz be a reminder to all people and all times that to fall silent in the face of evil is to ensure its triumph,” the Vice President shared on Twitter.

At the 55th Annual Munich Security Conference, Vice President Pence explained how America is leading once again on the world stage. “With the support of strong bipartisan majorities in the United States Congress, President Trump has taken decisive action to make the strongest military in the history of the world stronger still, enacting the largest investment in our national defense since the days of Ronald Reagan,” he said.

With America’s renewed strength, President Trump has urged our NATO allies to live up to their commitments toward our common defense. His call to action worked: The number of NATO members spending at least 2 percent of their GDP on defense has doubled in just the past two years.
