Fracking, air pollution and Brexit: I'm coming to an event near you next week
I hope you can make it to one of the many public events I'm hosting or attending this week - please see below for more details. It would be great to see you. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, views, concerns and questions about the issues that really matter to you.Oxford Town Hall: Air pollution: plans to tackle a public health emergency // Tuesday
Keith will join guest speakers Dr. Imad Ahmed, an Oxford University academic researching air pollution and its effects on the brain, and Chris Church, a member of Oxford Friends of the Earth and an Oxfordshire clean air activist, at Oxford Town Hall to discuss air pollution and the solutions to the city's air quality crisis. The event will be chaired by Dick Wolff, a City Councillor for St Mary's. The meeting is free and open to all; it starts at 19:00. But spaces are limited, please sign up.
Horsham: UK energy: which way forward? + free screening of The Bentley Effect // Wednesday
Keith will be hosting a public meeting on the future of the UK's energy policy in view of huge challenges such as Brexit and fracking and oil drilling. This free, non-partisan event will include keynote speeches from Keith Taylor MEP and expert panellists followed by a short Q&A session and a screening of the highly acclaimed film 'The Bentley Effect' - an extraordinary tale of a community that defied fracking on their doorstep. Please register.
Portsmouth: #LetPompeyBreathe // Thursday
Join Keith for a photo call to help draw attention to the silent killer that is air pollution. Fratton Road is a particularly badly affected area but all of Portsmouth is blighted by toxic air. After the photo, Keith will discuss possible solutions to the public health emergency at the MAKE Charity cafe on Cornwall Road (behind Wetherspoons). People will have time to grab a coffee and cake beforehand. The event is free and open to everyone. Register your attendance.
