Are you being heard on Brexit? I'm hosting a week of LISTENING events across the South East this week, YOU'RE invited

Isn't it time politicians started ACTUALLY listening to the people whose lives will be impacted - for generations - by the decisions taken in the next few months?

This week, I'm hosting Brexit question and answer sessions in five towns and cities across the South East.

The first event is to be held in Lewes, on Monday 29 October, while subsequent meetings will take place in Guildford, Portsmouth, Maidenhead and Canterbury. I've invited local MPs, Maria Caulfield, Stephen Morgan, Theresa May and Rosie Duffield to join me to speak at the meetings in their constituencies.

Confirmed speakers include Femi Oluwole, Our Future Our Choice, Richard Brooks, For our Future's Sake, and David Rowen, European Parliament.

These events aim to provide an open forum for you to air your concerns about Brexit, as the government's negotiations with the EU continue to stall.

There is no denying the fact that I campaigned for Remain during the referendum nor the fact that I support the People's Vote campaign.

However, it is also undeniable that there is obvious discontent with the way Brexit is being handled from those who voted Remain and those who voted Leave alike. It is vital that politicians are listening to the people who are going to be feeling the effects of the decisions taken in the next few months for generations to come.

I hope these meeting can provide an opportunity to help to heal some of the divides caused by the EU referendum.

Tickets for the events are free but people are asked to book online as space is limited.

Meetings are open to everyone. If you are planning on coming, you can emailor post your questions on Facebook in advance.
