The government has two consultations running until October 25, 2018, which aim to fast-track fracking across England.

Ministers plans set out to undermine local democracy and ride roughshod over local residents in the pursuit of environmentally-destructive fracking.

It's shameful enough that the Tories have already done this in places such as Lancashire. The government is abandoning the pretence that it is committed to localism.

But there is a huge opposition to their frighteningly anti-democratic plans, including from Tory councillors and MPs. We must harness that opposition and push the government to scrap these proposals immediately.
