"US marks 9/11 anniversary with resolve, tears and hope"

On the 16th anniversary of 9/11, AP reports on the personal stories and ceremonies taking place today. Rob Fazio has come to the place where his father, Ronald Carl Fazio, and thousands of others died September 11th. “‘I’ll come every year for the rest of my life,’ the son said. ‘It’s where I get my strength.’” President Trump spoke at the Pentagon telling extremists that “America cannot be intimidated,” and Vice President Mike Pence delivered remarks at the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The New York Post editorial board praises the President’s deal with Congressional leaders to shift the debate over the debt limit and government funding to later in the year, saying “Trump avoided having Washington locked in another inside-baseball battle when so many Americans are suffering” from Hurricane Harvey and Irma.
