China evades comment on Chabahar port launch in Iran

China on Monday declined to directly comment on the launch of the strategic Chabahar port in Iran but hoped that the project, which enables India to directly trade with Afghanistan besides rivalling Pakistan’s Gwadar port, is conducive to regional peace and stability.
