President Trump Signs New Defense Policy Bill that Rebuilds Military, Boosts Troop Pay

“Capping a major victory, President Trump signed a $716 billion defense bill Monday that authorizes hundreds of new planes, ships and tanks, increases troop strength and raises military pay,” Dave Boyer reports in The Washington Times
While speaking to troops at Fort Drum, New York, President Trump called the new National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2019 “the most significant investment in our military, and in our warfighters, in a generation.”
In the Washington Examiner, Elaine Parker writes that President Trump’s healthcare reforms are a breakthrough for hardworking Americans. The Trump Administration’s new rule allowing American workers to choose short-term health plans for longer periods “will save consumers money because they don't require the expensive components of ACA-style care.”
In the New York Post, Michael Goodwin writes that President Trump’s foreign policy is strengthening America’s leadership on the global stage. “By wielding America’s power instead of apologizing for it, and by keeping his focus on jobs and national security, Trump is making progress in fixing the ruinous status quo he inherited,” Goodwin explains.
Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s “respect for the constitutional rights of Americans is evident in his rulings to safeguard religious liberty,” Penny Nance writes in The Hill. “The Senate should stop playing partisan political games to stall this great nominee,” she adds.
