The global economy runs on nature. Healthy ecosystems boost growth, create jobs, and provide safety nets when times are tough. When these systems thrive, they power agricultural yields, strengthen supply chains, and secure clean air and water. When they degrade, productivity plummets and vulnerability rises.
Nature is infrastructure. It creates the conditions for more and better jobs: forests collect, store and distribute water that businesses depend on; farmers diversify their income by starting nature-based businesses; and wildlife tourism employs tens of millions of young people globally.
The strongest results come when communities can earn more by protecting nature than by depleting it. Nature-based businesses create that link, turning conservation into income, enterprise, and jobs.
