House Passes $484B Coronavirus Small Business Relief Bill, Sends to Trump


“The House of Representatives Thursday overwhelmingly passed a $484 billion relief package to rescue small businesses, help hospitals and to expand testing, sending the fourth bipartisan coronavirus bill to President Trump's desk,” Marisa Schultz reports for Fox News.

Small businesses shouldn’t have had to wait for these additional funds, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said on the chamber floor: It should have been passed immediately when the Trump Administration requested it on April 7.

“To those 4.4 million Americans that were laid off this week—Congress owes you an apology,” McCarthy said.

“Researchers at NASA developed a ‘high-pressure’ ventilator for treating the coronavirus in just 37 days and it is seeking expedited approval from the FDA . . . The new machine can be built more quickly and uses fewer parts than a traditional ventilator, according to NASA,” Marina Pitofsky reports in The Hill.
