‘Medicare for All’ Means Choice for None

“‘Medicare for all’ is another name for socialized health insurance,” the Washington Examiner editorial board writes.

“Follow the defenses of ‘Medicare for all’ closely enough, through their twists and turns, and eventually you end up in a dead-end alley from which there is no escape. Democrats’ plans to supposedly open up Medicare to everybody always end up in the same place: They absolutely must bar people from choosing to buy their own insurance instead . . . This means they would also strip millions of Americans of their current healthcare plans.”

Democrats “want to run not only health insurance but the entire healthcare sector.”

“President Trump honored Tiger Woods for his momentous golf career by awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, at the White House on Monday,” CBS News reports. “The age of Tiger gave us moments that will live forever in sporting lore,” the President said, standing alongside the golf legend.
Paid family leave has stalled in Congress for years, but thanks to Republicans, that could all be changing soon, Abby Vesoulis writes in TIME. “Republican Sens. Marco Rubio, Joni Ernst, Mike Lee and Bill Cassidy have all announced paid parental-leave proposals in the last two years. Ivanka Trump, the President’s daughter and senior adviser, has also made it one of her chief priorities while serving in the White House.” Ms. Trump says that “bipartisan proposals are taking shape to support America’s working families.”
“For suggesting that an impartial investigation might be in order, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said Mr. Barr was ‘going off the rails,’” The Washington Times editorial board writes. “I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal,” Mr. Barr said. “I feel I have an obligation to make sure that government power is not abused. I think that is one of the principal roles of the attorney general.”
“Poor Jerry Nadler. The congressman from New York has been itching to get Donald Trump almost from the day he was elected president,” William McGurn writes in The Wall Street Journal. “Alas, just as Mr. Nadler finds himself in a position to do it—as House Judiciary Committee chairman he has jurisdiction over impeachment proceedings—special counsel Robert Mueller dropped a report that found zero evidence of collusion with Russia. With no crime to cover up, what would the president have been obstructing?”
