Trump tells workers their tax-cut bonuses are 'not crumbs' - Washington Times
On Wednesday, in a meeting with American workers who have benefitted from the recent overhaul of the American tax code led by President Donald J. Trump, the President told workers their bonuses are “not crumbs.” One guest from Iowa even revealed that his family will “pocket an extra $6,000 this year from the tax cuts.”
For the first time since 1970, U.S. crude oil production broke 10 million barrels a day. America’s “status is growing” as the world’s third largest oil producer, with production expected to expand. “The Trump administration has embraced energy as an economic force and has declared that the U.S. will be dominant, unlocking new sources of oil domestically,” CNBC reports.
Moody’s Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi predicts that the U.S. jobless rate may reach 3.5% by this time next year, “a level reached in only two other periods since the government began keeping such records in 1948,” Axios reports. Zandi said the current job market is “rip-roaring.”
On Thursday, health insurer Cigna announced it will increase the minimum wage for its employees and raise contributions to retirement accounts “thanks to the passage of the Republican tax law signed by President Trump late last year.”
