The sanction was imposed in connection with fraudulent practices affecting three World Bank-financed projects: the National Transmission Modernization I Project in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Enhancement and Strengthening of Power Transmission Network in Eastern Region Project in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and the Accelerating Renewable Energy Integration and Sustainable Energy Project in the Republic of Maldives. © 2026 World Bank Group,
