Chinese troops carry out live-firing exercises near Taiwan

Taipei confirmed that on a second day of military drills around Taiwan, Chinese troops again carried out live-fire exercises. Beijing said it was simulating a blockade of key areas on the self-ruled island.

Taiwan reliant on Russian energy for chip manufacturing

The island imports significant qualities of Russian naphtha, a fossil-fuel derivative needed in the high-tech sector. Until recently, it also sourced much of its coal from Russia.
