“Our country is doing very well. Our professionals are doing, really, an incredible job,” the President said. “We’re also working with other countries to help them because they really have a fear of the unknown.”

The President also met this afternoon with pharmaceutical companies that are actively working to develop the COVID-19 vaccine, discussing how the federal government can help accelerate their vaccine development.

Vice President Mike Pence, who President Trump tapped to lead the Administration’s Coronavirus response, met with a number of America’s governors today to give an update on the White House Coronavirus Task Force. “We’ll continue to coordinate closely with state & local leaders as we respond,” he wrote after the meeting.

A live briefing from Vice President Pence and Ambassador Dr. Deborah Birx, Coronavirus response coordinator for the White House, will begin at 5 p.m. ET.

🏈 Former NFL player Jack Brewer: ‘This President has truly, truly empowered me’

Last week, black community leaders from across the country joined President Trump for a White House reception to celebrate African American History Month.

“We’ve done Opportunity Zones. We’ve done criminal justice reform. We’ve done a lot of things that people didn’t even think possible,” President Trump said.

One of those guests was former NFL player Jack Brewer, who has worked tirelessly his entire life to bring real change to our nation’s inner cities.

“As a lifelong Democrat—I ran the NFL Players for Obama for years—and I always wanted policies that helped and served the black community,” Brewer said.

“This President has truly, truly empowered me. Seeing him pass the First Step Act, seeing him go into our communities and pass all these policies that are creating jobs for our people, bringing our fathers out of prison . . . I can’t tell you how just motivated I am to continue to work and press forward,” he added.

Thank you, Mr. President!”
