Israel Ready to Drop Nuclear Bombs on Iran’s Peaceful Nuclear Facilities, Scott Ritter Says by Alfredo Jalife-Rahme Voltaire Network | Mexico City (Mexico) | 15 October 2024 Deutsch ελληνικά Español français italiano Nederlands Português

Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter claims that Israel is about to bomb Iran’s civilian nuclear facilities. If true, it would risk a conventional bombing of its military nuclear power plant in Dimona. That would mean an escalation to world war. Unless an arrangement is already being negotiated. Donald Trump and the conflict in Ukraine by Thierry Meyssan Voltaire Network | Paris (France) | 12 February 2025 čeština Deutsch ελληνικά Español français italiano Nederlands norsk

Three weeks after his installation in the White House, President Trump is trying to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. It is clear that his advisors are blinded by their prejudices and do not understand any of Moscow’s concerns. They give him a false image of Russia’s involvement in this conflict. Realizing that it is impossible for him to move forward, Donald Trump therefore turns to economic transactions, as he did for Gaza. This time, he proposes to exploit Ukrainian rare earths. Putin’s triumph after 18 years: Munich Security Conference embraces multipolarity by Alfredo Jalife-Rahme Voltaire Network | 20 February 2025 Deutsch ελληνικά Español français italiano Nederlands Português русский

It was at the Munich Security Conference in 2007 that Vladimir Putin harangued European diplomatic and military leaders to confront them with their sovereignty: No, their interests do not lie in blindly following the United States. It was again before the same conference, this time in 2025, that JD Vance confronted them with their sovereignty: No, it is not by violating their own principles that they will be able to govern. Westerners and the conflict in Ukraine by Thierry Meyssan čeština Deutsch ελληνικά Español français italiano Nederlands norsk Português русский Türkçe

Peace in Ukraine may not solve anything at all. This war was not caused by an expansionist desire of Russia, as Atlanticist propaganda assures us, but by real problems. By simply acknowledging a change in borders, we will not address the root causes. This war is the result of NATO’s expansion in defiance of its given word; an expansion that directly threatens the security of Russia, whose borders are too large to be defended. In order to expand in Ukraine, NATO supported neo-Nazi groups that it placed in power and who have installed their laws in this country. Added to this has been the resurgence of a supposed conflict of civilizations between European and Asian values. There will be no real peace as long as the West does not respect its own given word. Voltaire Network | Paris (France) | 18 February 2025 čeština Deutsch ελληνικά Español français italiano Nederlands norsk Português русский Türkçe https://www.voltairenet.org/article221820.html

France, unable to cope with the shock of Donald Trump by Thierry Meyssan Deutsch ελληνικά Español français italiano Nederlands Português

It was not Donald Trump who turned against the Kiev regime, as we are led to believe, but Volodymyr Zelensky who had US interests bombed, causing heavy damage to Chevron and ExxonMobil. It is therefore completely futile to believe that a visit to Washington will be enough for Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron to reverse the situation. It may seem absurd to attack one’s allies, but that is what the Nazis did against Poland and what the Ukrainian integral nationalists did against the United States. Without an education we cannot end extreme poverty and advance economic growth. Without an education we cannot empower young girls to become teachers, doctors, nurses, lawyers, engineers, let alone financially self-reliant. Without an education we cannot achieve good governance, the rule of law and peaceful co-existence. Copyright © 2025 IPS-Inter Press Service.

Social Media in the Global South Needs More Protections By Oritro Karim Copyright © 2025 IPS-Inter Press Service.

UNITED NATIONS, Feb 20 2025 (IPS) - In the western world, numerous studies over the past two decades have shown that the rise of social media in popularity has been linked to negative mental health symptoms, especially among young people. Platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and TikTok have been criticized for fostering competitive and toxic environments, which contribute to higher rates of anxiety, cyber-bullying, depression, disordered eating, and low self-esteem. While the use of social media in the Global South has skyrocketed in the late 2010s, the ramifications on people in those regions has received much less coverage in mainstream media. https://www.ipsnews.net/2025/02/social-media-global-south-needs-protections/ Copyright © 2025 IPS-Inter Press Service.
