International Women’s Day, 2025 The Quest for a Female UN Secretary-General: Assessing the Probability By Shihana Mohamed The annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meets in March each year to address the widespread inequalities, violence and discrimination women continue to face all around the world. The sixty-ninth session of the CSW will take place in New York from 10 to 21 March 2025. Meanwhile, this year’s International Women’s Day, March 8, will be celebrated under the theme, 'Accelerate Action': a worldwide call to acknowledge strategies, resources, and activities that positively impact women's advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation.
