Fred Lucas at The Daily Signal previews President Trump’s speech at The Heritage Foundation tonight. He writes “Trump is expected to promote his tax reform proposal, the top legislative priority for the White House.” The President has been on the road selling the need for tax reform to the American public since August. Ed Feulner, the founder and president of The Heritage Foundation told the Daily Signal, “The timing of this year’s speech couldn’t be better. Congress has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver sweeping, pro-growth tax reform for the American people. The president will address this critical issue, and we await his remarks with great anticipation."

At the American Action Forum, former CBO Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin writes that two new studies – one from the Council of Economic Advisers and one from Boston University – show that reducing America’s uncompetitive corporate tax reform will help boost middle class incomes by thousands of dollars.

In foreign policy news, Reuters reports that the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have pushed ISIS out of the group’s self-proclaimed capital of Raqqa, calling the victory “a potent symbol of the jihadist movement’s collapsing fortunes” as ISIS “has lost much of its territory in Syria and Iraq this year.”

In the American Thinker, Monica Showalter writes President Trump is busy “doing the job voters asked him to do,” in dismantling the Obama legacy. She points out Obama’s legacy was always flimsy, actions largely taken “without any of the building blocks of legislation or consent of the public.”
